UA Cossatot Educational Resources Director and OER Specialist Relinda Ruth reports that the college has saved students $3,197,081.25 in textbook costs since launching its Open Educational Resource program in 2015. Ruth, who chairs the ten member Arkansas OER Taskforce, has been instrumental in implementing the program at UAC. OER is defined as learning, teaching, and research materials in any format and medium that reside in the public domain, or are under copyright, that have been released under an open license that permit no-cost access, re-use, adaptation and redistribution by others.
