Purpose: The Open Educational Resources (OER) Faculty Adoption Grant is designed to encourage faculty to select free, openly licensed textbooks as primary course materials. The rising cost of commercial textbooks negatively impacts student success as some delay or forego purchasing or renting course materials. The adoption of OER is a strategy for lowering the overall cost of course materials, and ensures continuous student access to the required textbook from day one of the course.
